Can anyone provide me with the details of Godric or Ronin's untimely demises? Both men should be seen as heroes in our town's eyes. I am saddened that I did not have more time to call them both friend.

Although I do not know about Ronin, I do know that Godric was taken away shortly after the ambush Friday night. I had just come into town and was still trying to get my bearing straight, when people were talking about a group of people coming and escorting Godric away.

"It was terrible." Emily looks up from a table a ways away. "I don't know about Ronin, but Godric..." She looks away and then begins again.

"Godric was apparently captured by cultists of Zon because he offended them in some innocuous way. They sacrificed him. And the whole time, he was begging us, some of us by name, to save him. We didn't."

Terry gets a puzzled look on his face and looks at Emily. "I hate to display my ignorance, but who are the Cultist of Zon, and why did no one help him. I have run into a couple of thing since coming here that you don't mess with, so I will understand if the answer is simple - they are too powerful to take on, but I am just curious.

Oh believe me, we tried to help him. Godric and the cultist sacrificing him were surrounded by a series of rings of eldritch energies. Myself and other users of resonance or eldritch powers in town attempted to disable these rings while the rest of the townsfolk held off the cultists. I estimate I was about 10 seconds from disabling the final ring when Godric was sacrificed.

The cultists worship Zon, a deity of sorts (or "immensely powerful entity" if you prefer it) whose purview seems to be roughly entropy, death and annihilation. I shudder at the madness that makes a person believe there is benefit to be had in worshiping such a being, but there it is.

As for Rhonin, I was there when he died. He attempted to infilitrate a cult of an entity of Rot, tricking them into believing he was one of them in order to gain information about their operations. He went into the situation knowing full well what might happen, and died holding off beings that were far more powerful than any of us in order to give the rest of us the time to escape. For that I am eternally grateful. If you'd like to know more of the specifics involved, I would be happy to talk in person.

The Inquisitor's armored plates clatters lightly against each other as he rises from his seat. He carries a black clad shield emblazoned with a scarlet symbol of the Church of Phenex, and he wears a solemn look on his face.

"I too was present when Rhonin was lost to us. His noble sacrifice ensured that those of us who were with him were able to escape with our lives. I would agree that the specific details should be shared in a more formal and private setting. I would not want to insult his memory and enabling his ultimate sacrifice to be in vain by compromising the vital information until the time is right. That said I do think it is important for everyone to know the enemy he gave everything in order to learn more about and oppose. The Black clad assassins from Phong-Tai, the ones who are found infrequently in Greyhook are the minions of the monster who killed Rhonin. They are not to be spared or tolerated, consider each and every one of them to have a hand in his death."

Terry looks over at the Dmitri and the Inquisitor. "Ah I see, so it was not that no one helped but instead that they were expecting an attack and prepared accordingly. This is most disturbing given that cult of entropy was able to asset the town well enough to preform such a feet.

"As for Rhonin, I am sorry I did get to meet this individual. He sounds like a great people and the town is truly in his debt for his actions. I would recommend the next time we are all in the pub we hold a toast and moment of silents for him and all those that give there lives for this town.

"Just remember that shortly that list is going to get longer. With the Vostigrads added to the list of enemies of Grayhook, we are going to see a lot more action, and most will like not go in our favor
