I am a little confused regarding the Talismanry rules, if I use say a Whispering Idol and I MUST carry it on my person, than I can't use any other kind of Talisman that reset? The Talismanry section emphasizes how many you can carry at a time (1) and how many you can have at all (Maximum Sanity + Dark Truths)... so you are only able to use one per reset (as that is all you can carry, thus use)? That seems rather restricting and really drops the value and flexibility of Talismans. Instead of being able to use multiple Talismans in a reset (one at a time however), you can only use 1 total per reset (as you have to carry it with you, thus can't remove the talisman once you have used it) ? What happens if someone ELSE removes the talisman, during that reset may I now use another?

I had thought previously that I could use a Talisman, place it elsewhere and then carry a different one to use as needed. Thus I am only ever carrying one at any given time, but I can enjoy the benefits of a variety of Talismans.

I believe you are allowed to carry and use up to your max potential sanity talismans per reset, but you can only carry (and thus use) one of each kind.

(who clearly knows nothing about talismans.)

If I'm scanning correctly, Ms. Byram has the right of it.

Nerf just released their new Vortex line.

http://www.hasbro.com/nerf/en_US/shop/b ... Zot/Ne-2ll

tl;dr: The guns shoot disks instead of darts, which fly further and straighter (except when you curve them) but hit harder (although not quite as hard as an accellerant-legal boffer strike).

Can we use these?

Alright I gots another one,

So I asked this one privately but I figure everyone should know the answer to this. So lets say I have a gun that fires with a carrier (IE 6 Damage by lightning/fire/cottage cheese). What exactly does this extra carrier do for my weapon? and how does that effect the person I'm shooting? Armor/protectives/lactose intolerance/ect.

o.O

If I'm understanding the question correctly, the answer is "nothing."

Traits do not have any inherent value in LE (as is true in most Accelerant games). Traits are important for:

a) Lending the game flavor, and
b) Allowing the person getting hit to activate relevant defenses and weaknesses.

So "Death by Cottage Cheese" is obviously horrible. Tone it down to "10 Damage by Cottage Cheese" and it's still pretty terrible. Cottage cheese, love it or hate it, that does more damage than the average human body can sustain is, in my book, somewhere between "pretty terrible" and "terribly amusing."

Anyway.

If a person is lactose intolerant, then they would respond by "Absorb to Death." And they would die. Or maybe just "Absorb to 10 Damage and Agony."

On the other hand, if they saw First Sergeant Ivanovich lumbering over the horizon with his Horrible Cheese Ray, the person would likely pop a lactaid.

And could then call "Resist by Modern Convenience!"

Regardless, due to the nature of the Accelerant system, such traits are meaningless in and of themselves. Cheese doesn't kill people. People WIELDING cheese kill people.

Addendum: please remember that "uncalled" strikes and shots have the "weapon" carrier. This sometimes matters if, for example, you have a skill or defense that reacts to weapon strikes. In that instance, the skill could be used on something doing "6 Damage" but not "6 Damage by Cottage Cheese." Just to further muddy the waters, there's also the factor of "method of delivery," such as "melee" or "packet."

I am totally willing to hire a mechanic to make me a cheese rifle.
