I had a flashlight this past event, and will again next unless something happens (like I forget) but one of the modes is a bright blue LED, I was walking around with someone after game off and we found a bunch of darts for just a few minutes of looking

So I've played around with UV LED's, and a dart-finder is certainly possible. The orange foam of your basic Nerf dart fluoresces nicely under enough UV light. And if I pulse the LEDs the darts blink on the ground, while saving battery power... Now I just have to figure out how to tune the damn thing without going blind. And how to package it in a steampunky package.

Question!

What would be a legal and thin construction for a rapier?
I have read the rules and it only really confused me, and anything that's built on 1/2" PVC seems unwieldy at best. :(

Is it possible to perhaps make one with these instructions?

Three Points:

1) Crush tips are mandatory. A crush tip, in my mind, is defined as "a piece of open cell (NOT CLOSED CELL) foam that is approximately as thick as a standard duct tape roll that is securely affixed to the stabbing tip of a weapon and riddled with air release holes."

2) All striking/stabbing surfaces must be larger around than a human eye socket. In a perfect world, eye gouging with a boffer weapon would be physically impossible.

3) The closed cell foam on striking surfaces should be 5/8" thick, not 1/2" thick.

We realize that this unfortunately limits some aesthetic developments in the boffer arms race, but safety is our primary concern.

Okay, all of that will be taken into account.
A workable model is being developed!
