Greyhook is Awful: 2012 Spring Weather Edition
Posted: Tue Mar 20, 2012 9:26 pm
Hey everyone! With the even only days away it's time for the traditional look at the weather for the weekend... keep your various appendages crossed!
Overview: Cool, cloudy, ending in showers on Sunday
Friday during the day we have a high of 70 but we'll probably only really "enjoy" the overnight low all the way down to 38. Clear skies to begin the weekend but that will change as we go.
Saturday with a high of 57 and mostly cloudy skies mean a cool, fair comfortable day for those with heavy costuming or those fighting squalidly (or both!) settling into an overnight low of around 37.
Keep in mind high cloud cover means saturday night will be pitch black so please be extra careful as you wander around in the dark be you man or monster.
Sunday ends the weekend on a soggy note with a 50% chance of showers. However with a high in the high forties getting everything packed up and cleaned up might be a rather nasty operation. So on behalf of the staff if you can please help pitch in after game ends so we can all go home to a dry place sooner rather than later!.
Besides the oft mentioned notes of hypothermia, dehydration, and uneven footing because we've had a simply AWESOME winter, we have a problem to consider that we usually don't have to this early in the season. Ticks
A soft winter like this means that more of the little parasites are going to be around, and around earlier. So check yourself when you get the chance and if you picked up a hitch hiker please try and find one of the EMT's on site to help remove it if you don't have much experience getting rid of them safely. Lyme Disease sucks and is VERY prevalent in the area so lets avoid that mess shall we?
Looking forward to running screaming all weekend with you!
