Three Points:
1) Crush tips are mandatory. A crush tip, in my mind, is defined as "a piece of open cell (NOT CLOSED CELL) foam that is approximately as thick as a standard duct tape roll that is securely affixed to the stabbing tip of a weapon and riddled with air release holes."
2) All striking/stabbing surfaces must be larger around than a human eye socket. In a perfect world, eye gouging with a boffer weapon would be physically impossible.
3) The closed cell foam on striking surfaces should be 5/8" thick, not 1/2" thick.
We realize that this unfortunately limits some aesthetic developments in the boffer arms race, but safety is our primary concern.
