Flaring with renewed anger at the Sheriff's words the Inquisitor absent mindfully fingers his golden ring lightly while he speaks.

"I think that perhaps my intentions have been made unclear, I DO think that local members of the Chayodyne order have knowledge in my attack. While not the ones who performed the deed, a direct hand involved, yes I suspect as much. If I am mistaken then they will have no problems in assisting with the investigation, and will not hinder my own efforts.

Miss West while it is possible that is the case, I think you underestimate the rarity of the manifesting powers used, I have never seen used outside of the Church or the Order. If this is indeed some outside effort being made to spread discord, then until I have those responsible in my custody, it has worked. Thus let that be a motivator to helping the Etymarchy's investigation. My trust has been broken, followers of Chayodyne that are not actively assisting me in the hunt for their fellows are no longer safe from the Church.

Sheriff I offer my hand once, just once. I will not be spoken to in that manner by yourself, heretics like Talbot, or anyone. As an Inquisitor of the Etymarchy, and a priest of the holy Church of Phenex, I shall be shown proper respect. Even if you do not respect me personally, you SHALL respect my rank, and what it represents.

The Etymarchy is being made aware of the situation, and they will not answer to me should they choose to act. If anyone desires to prevent unnecessary bloodshed, then your time to act is now."

Respect? Where I'm from you gotta earn that. Even if they had some fancy church magic we both know that aint proof enough. Anyone who spends one day in this town will know you are a powderkeg in a bathrobe.

*Gregor hears the Sheriff's words and reaches into his bag. Gregor replaces the hair on his head with his thinking cap. He puts on his smart glasses and puffs on his pipe. After taking a moment to mull over the words which have been thrown around Gregor decides to speak.*

"Structure is what brings order out of chaos. If rank and structure fall apart then armies become leaderless and fall, the church would be fragmented and have no discernible, clear message and kingdoms would crumble. We currently find ourselves struggling with a kingdom left leaderless and now you suggest that my masters rank within another important pillar of our society has no meaning? Do you want Ayos to be thrown into an age of darkness and despair when no one has anywhere to turn for protection or any group to associate with? How can you uphold the law when you disrespect the system which is in place to give you such power? By achieving his title Inquisitor Sahaal has earned respect. Just as a foreign noble is shown respect within our kingdom an Inquisitor is in a sense a prince of the Church of Phenex and should be shown equal respect. Maybe you should rethink your position on Inquisitor Sahaal before you bring the wrath of the "kingdom" that he represents upon you."

*Gregor finishes speaking and then stumbles then drops his pipe and glasses. After recovering his items and putting them in his bag he then looks around confused again with a sick look on his face. He then turns to Father Sahaal and says.*

"Father this is getting boring, when's dinner? Can I go play with the Dorr?"

*Gregor then turns to leave before receiving an answer.*

Looking somewhat astonished at his dim witted retainers intellectual contribution, Father Sahaal's confusion seems to be due his agreement with his rotting faced minion. He speaks to Gregor hesitantly as if unsure of his words.

"Gregor, well said... stay however; Riegner can wait as can your dinner. By involving yourself, thus your presence is now required."

I will submit to Gregors argument of stability but I still refuse to afford you any special respect I would not show anyone else. What I'm trying to say is that we can't go out hurling accusations and ultimatums. There isn't enough evidence. I believe all the events of the past few days are connected. Three assassination attempts in one day is no coincidence. The Kings life was intended yours was purely for reaction, and its working.

The priest is clearly losing respect for the Sheriff, and his tone supports that. A almost smug look grows on his face when he mentions church approval...

"I ask for no special treatment, special treatment would imply something I had not earned or achieved, I ask for what is due for one of my position. Evidence? My own word as well as two additional witness's does not suffice? The Attack was actually on Friday night, I did not address the issue as I was awaiting the Church's approval. I currently possess their approval, hence the start of my investigation. And if the attack on myself is in fact related to the King's assassination then it should be considered among the highest of priorities in aiding the Etymarchy's investigation. If you truly believe what you say, then either assist to your capabilities, or shut up and stay out of my way. For the time being until it can be proven otherwise I am operating under the assumption that the Chayodyne order has opened hostilities against the Church, and the Church is supporting my stance. To stand against me is to stand against the Church, you may wish to ask yourself where it is you wish to stand."

The Inquisitor crosses his arms and slightly turns his head, eyes scanning those assembled.

Smiling openly at the Pastor's display of defiance

"You have made your choice, and you have made it clear you will hold no regrets to the consequences, I do hope you were not lying... and on the assumption there is a connection to the King's own assassination than it is an obvious one. The Chayodyne Order tried to remove me, as an agent of the Church in order to carry out their political assassinations without opposition. I have offered the chance for cooperation, it has been refused, fine. I have my answer this conversation is clearly over."

And with that the Priest raises his hand in the sign of the Church
"In nomen of Phenex Quod Omnipotens
Rector meus Vesica obviam meus hostilis
Defaeco Haereticum, Gentilitas, quod Immunda
Pretium vita est nex"

And turns to leave, with a blank face and fiery eyes.

*Gregor stands where he is while listening to his masters words. Once Father Sahaal finishes speaking Gregor appears agitated and begins mumbling to himself something about the church interfering in politics. This lasts but a few seconds before he becomes quiet and watches Father Sahaal leave. Gregor takes a seat and scans the room as if looking for something.*

"I'm still hungry."

*Gregor looks at his stomach as if the thought of it being full would be enough to quench his hunger. When this fails he continues to look around almost helplessly in hopes that food will somehow appear.*
